August, 2004
With the Chinook/King season winding down and the trees starting to change
to a tinge of yellow we look back on the last few weeks. From back
trolling the Skeena, to driftboating the Kitimat, as well float fishing the
Kalum and Nass systems. We have covered a large territory to catch and
promote release of all salmonoid species.
Attached are some of the big boys we landed as well a group photo of three
fresh Kings all landed within 10 minutes of each other.
The Chum and Pink Salmon are in full spawn as well the start of the early
Silver/Coho season. The Skeena is our flyfishing destination this mid
August as fresh Reds/Sockeye are running, as well Skeena Steelhead. Our
ocean charters are picking up fresh Silvers as well Halibut within minutes
of the Kitimat Arm as these Halibut are migrating closer to the rivers that
are spilling large amounts of spawned out Salmon. As for the Dungeness
Crabbing it is excellent and fresh seafood is always on the menu.
Our line-up for the September Steelhead and Silver runs consist of the
Townsend group, the Leonard group, the Bierach group, the Zeckerman group,
the Benson group, the Clements group, the Hashimoto group, the Koya group,
etc.
Enjoy the pics, tight lines.
