Skeena Region
This weeks guests both fresh and salt water were very happy as the Coho
and other Salmon species were in abundance on the Douglas Channel. The
Wezlowsky crew and the Murdochs enjoyed their trip on the water as catch
numbers were well into the dozens. Also watching the Humpback Whales
school Herring, then bursting out of the water to grab a large mouthful
of fresh fish, all recorded on DVD. These Humpbacks were amazing to
watch in the wild as they fed on large quantities of surface boiling
Herring. Not mention some very close contact with these large mammals.
Our freshwater trips are peaking on the Kitimat River as flyfishing for
large Chum as well Pink and late arriving Chinooks are making for allot
of tight lines and exciting moments for our guided guests. The Skeena
and Kalum River systems have finally picked up and we are having
excellent success with these Skeena run fish. Attached is a fresh
Chinook released by Calgarian Dana Svendson.
August brings us into the start of our Skeena Steelheading as well
helicopter fishing for all species. Check back as we will have some
great photos in the gallery throughout the seasons, tight lines.
