Well, the steelhead season has finally ended and what a great
season it was. We had a medium run and it is a indication
that next year will be awesome. We landed this Steelie in
early June, bottom bouncing a spinning glow called scottys
red tiger. We also lost a fifty plus Chinook using the same
gear, but the fish was to strong and snapped the line like
it was a piece of thread, incredible!!
This small river system has a tendancy to change water levels
daily. We can see a three feet rise and fall in twenty four
hours, depending on weather conditions. Lately the runoff
is making for quiet times on the river, but that is a good
thing as it makes room for the king of all Salmon, the Chinook.
We will be doing some flyfishing this July for Chinooks,
so keep coming to my site and check out the tactics and tricks
we are using for catching these bad boys.
The early signs are encouraging as small bunches of fish
are coming into the system now.
This weeks angler tip is: When pulling plugs, ensure that
your rod tip is pulsating at a constant speed, indicating
the movement on you plugs. This action is crucial to increase
your chances of having a good day to a great day, TIGHT LINES!!
