Kitimat River Chinook Report
Whoooz your daddy! The happy anglers from Saskatoon and Warman Saskatchewan found the action they were looking for, as the Chinook run is about to begin. Spending a few days on the Saltwater venturing at times many miles to intercept the Chinook run, the rods finally started to bend. As well having a double header. These Kitimat River Chinooks are in prime shape and pushing the 30lb range. Our best fish came in the last pool of the trip. The center rod went off and stayed down like it was hung up on a mattress. Scott grabbed the rod and the fish held at bottom, was it a Halibut! Not likely as we were drifting the river. When the fish decided to make a break for it, it eluded the excited angler and headed straight for the boat and pop went the hook. This Chinook was a pig! Attached are a few of the Chinook the boys brought to the net, 6 in total, 11 hook-ups in two days.
The river is starting to drop and will be flywater level soon. Guests arriving this week are from France and Edmonton, tight lines.
