Attached is this weeks big Steelhead, 40 inches by 20 inches, 22lbs by Mr. Hirakawa from Japan. The picture says it all as Hirakawa's teeth gritting grasp with a expression of satisfaction says it all. Having a large hen in the upper teens spit the hook at em a few casts before, he went back to the neck of the pool and midstream he met up with a Monster. His Spey rod was bent like a fresh twig and after a hard fought battle I netted this catch and release Steelhead.
The past few weeks have been very good and early run Chinook Salmon are in the lower stretches of the river. Expect a early Salmon run for 2008, tight lines.
