Day 1 for Hak was more than he expected, after landing 2 chrome Steelhead, he was ready to go home, satisfied and considered very lucky. Two of the next three pools were holding Steelhead and his numbers doubled instantly, aggressive takes on his 7wt Loomis Spey was put to the test, at times close to the break point.

Attached are pics of Hak and his fresh from the ocean Steelhead, 5 more days to go! With some heavy rain the past 2 days, we saw a bump in river levels as well some tea color. Water temps have risen from 36F to 38F, so the chrome females are aggressive as always. The large colored buck Hak hit today was in the first pool of his trip, gotta like it, eh! A presumed take of a Dolly Varden was not the case and this 18lber broke the surface and off it came, full breach. It would have been a good battle as this fish was in the fast, middle part of the swing and about 100ft out.

Arriving guests should have a very productive week as the Steelhead are moving in very nice numbers.
